The IRS will begin processing returns for 2021 taxes, beginning Jan. 24.

If the federal agency doesn’t extend the tax season deadline — as it has for the past two years — taxpayers have until April 18 to submit their tax returns.

“The pandemic continues to create challenges, but the IRS reminds people there are important steps they can take to help ensure their tax return and refund don’t face processing delays,” IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig stated in a news release.

“Filing electronically with direct deposit and avoiding a paper tax return is more important than ever this year. And we urge extra attention to those who received an Economic Impact Payment or an advance Child Tax Credit last year. People should make sure they report the correct amount on their tax return to avoid delays.”

Clients of Peekz ConsultiN should begin scheduling their annual tax appointments online with our digital booking site as soon as possible.

Clients must download, fill out and submit these tax worksheets, along with important paperwork, like W-2s, at least 48 hours before their appointments. The worksheets help Peekz prepare for these appointments so they run as efficiently as possible. Submitting the paperwork on time also helps clients avoid a postponed or rescheduled meeting or the expense of a follow-up appointment. We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to serving you this year.

Here’s how to share your worksheets and documents with Peekz before your tax meeting.
