The IRS will begin processing returns for 2022 taxes, beginning Jan. 23.

Taxpayers have until April 18 to submit their tax returns.

The IRS expects to receive more than 168 million returns from taxpayers this year, the agency said in a news release.

“With the three previous tax seasons dramatically impacted by the pandemic, the IRS has taken additional steps for 2023 to improve service for taxpayers,” the IRS stated. “As part of the August passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, the IRS has hired more than 5,000 new telephone assistors and added more in-person staff to help support taxpayers.”

Taxpayers seeking an extension of the April 18 deadline have until Oct. 16 to file.

Clients of Peekz ConsultiN should begin scheduling their annual tax appointments online with our digital booking site as soon as possible.

Clients must download, fill out and submit these tax worksheets, along with important paperwork, like W-2s, at least 48 hours before their appointments. The worksheets help Peekz prepare for these appointments so they run as efficiently as possible. Submitting the paperwork on time also helps clients avoid a postponed or rescheduled meeting or the expense of a follow-up appointment. We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to serving you this year.

Here’s how to share your worksheets and documents with Peekz before your tax meeting.
