Tax season is back.
The IRS will begin processing returns for 2023 taxes, beginning Jan. 29.
Taxpayers have until April 15 to submit their tax returns.
The IRS expects to receive more than 128.7 million returns from taxpayers this year, the agency said in a news release.
The IRS said taxpayers should expect to see refunds within three weeks of filing.
“Many different factors can affect the timing of a refund after the IRS receives a return,” the agency stated. “Although the IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days, the IRS cautions taxpayers not to rely on receiving a refund by a certain date, especially when making major purchases or paying bills. Some returns may require additional review and may take longer.”
Taxpayers can check the status of their refunds by going to Where’s My Refund? on IRS.gov or the IRS2Go app.
Taxpayers seeking an extension of the April 15 deadline must apply for an extension by that date. They then will have until Oct. 15 to file.
Clients of Peekz ConsultiN should begin scheduling their annual tax appointments online with our digital booking site as soon as possible.
Clients must download, fill out and submit these tax worksheets, along with important paperwork, like W-2s, at least 48 hours before their appointments. The worksheets help Peekz prepare for these appointments so they run as efficiently as possible. Submitting the paperwork on time also helps clients avoid a postponed or rescheduled meeting or the expense of a follow-up appointment. We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to serving you this year.
Here’s how to share your worksheets and documents with Peekz before your tax meeting.
