This year’s tax season kicks off in a matter of days, starting Jan. 23, with a filing deadline of April 18.

The Internal Revenue Service expects that returns should start reaching taxpayers by late February.

But the IRS┬árecently warned┬áthat the returns of taxpayers claiming two tax credits — the Earned Income and Additional Child tax credits — could experience a delay.

For clients who already have their 2016 tax information, Peekz Consultin will accept returns this month prior to the opening. We will hold them and then submit on Jan. 23.
