This year’s tax season kicks off in a matter of days, starting Jan. 23, with a filing deadline of April 18.

The Internal Revenue Service expects that returns should start reaching taxpayers by late February.

But the IRS recently warned that the returns of taxpayers claiming two tax credits — the Earned Income and Additional Child tax credits — could experience a delay.

For clients who already have their 2016 tax information, Peekz Consultin will accept returns this month prior to the opening. We will hold them and then submit on Jan. 23.
